Read this ONLY if you truly care about your hair

You are doing it wrong!

“Shampoo, rinse, repeat, mask” is the hair routine we follow for years. Correct!
What most of us do next is secretly wreaking havoc on our hair.
TOWEL DRYING. The towel drying means hair dying!
Why? The hair shaft gets roughed up during the drying process when you wring out your hair or rub it hard with a towel. It can worsen split ends and cause small craters along the hair shaft, weakening the hair. This can lead to excessive breakage and hair fall. The hair can also become extremely frizzy as the towel ruffles up the cuticles of the hair. If this is a habit of yours, your hair and I are begging you to stop! There still is a chance of repair!
For starters, switch out your towel with a T-Shirt or a microfiber towel. Squeeze your hair softly to remove excess water.
Then, use a leave in conditioner and moisturizer and let it air dry(or use heat protection before you blow dry it). This makes sure the cuticles of the hair remain sealed, keeping a strong structure and most of the moisture in!

I'm too lazy for haircare

But… lazy doesn’t mean inefficient! In fact lazy people are quite the contrary because they will always find a way to do something ..but easier. So in case you feel too lazy for “all this haircare” let me tell you this: – Do you shampoo your hair? – Yes. Choose the right professional line best suited to you (color treated hair, highlighted, volumizing, scalp sensitivity, anti hair loss etc.). Shampooing is something you will do anyhow and with the right products for your needs you are already making a good first step towards incredible results without effort. Half of the job already done ✔️ – Too lazy to wait for the conditioner or mask in the shower? Say no more! Leave in conditioners, moisturize creams or sprays and one of the most amazing, newest technologies on leave in hair treatment (K-18 biomimetic technology) are here for you! Just apply and let it do the job!

What happens to your hair during pregnancy

Just as every mom-to-be is different, so too is her head of hair, with some pregnant women sporting faster-growing locks that adapt to any style, while others are surprised to find that their hair is suddenly a new texture or even one to two tones darker from their natural hair colour. That’s because during pregnancy you have increased levels of estrogen and androgen, which promote shinier, healthier-looking hair. Some women also experience changes in hair texture, such as more or less natural curl or suddenly oilier strands, which could be attributed to those hormonal fluctuations.

Most common for many moms-to-be notice a fuller head of hair. Why? Every strand of hair goes through a three- stage cycle of growth, transition and rest before it falls out. Normally, we shed up to 100 hairs a day, but the extra estrogen we produce during pregnancy prolongs the growth stage, resulting in very little shedding. When your hormone roller coaster levels out about six to nine months postpartum or possibly later, if you’re breastfeeding your hair’s growth cycle will go back to normal. For some women this transition can be intense for a couple of weeks or months (telogen effluvium ).

Pregnancy and colour Although in our Hair Lab we are using high quality and technology products for colour and treatments, we advise our pregnant clients not to colour their hair, at least for the first trimester (12 weeks). After the 13th week we can work together to find the best way to treat your hair during your pregnancy (no ammonia colour, highlights, etc ). We always do a strand test! Remember that hormonal changes can make your hair react differently, so you might not get what you expect even from your regular formula. Before we move forward to do your whole head, we always try a test strand so you don’t wind up punk pink unless that’s the look you were going for, of course!
